I have recorded my latest album during a 5887km cycle adventure across Europe. Capturing the sounds of the places i visit. Starting in Edam, then to Gruyere over the Alps to Gorgonzola, Towards the Pyrenees and then up to finish in Camembert.

I'm going the wrong way. 31st August 2013

Ok, so i have gone the wrong way to fulfil a mini ambition. I should be heading south to Belgium, but i have gone north. Ha ha

Afsluitdijk

It is all about finding locations like this to inspire and record my mew album

Here is a 360 panorama photo. I stopped here 52 miles into an 82 mile ride. What a great place to work on some new songs. Brilliant. It is about 20 miles long and you can only just about see land at each way....

Wishes come in all shapes and colours.

When you have been cycling into a headwind for hours, sometimes all you need is somewhere sheltered to lean your bike and work on a song.

Or in the middle of a bridge over the river Ljssel

Here are a couple of cheesy Cheese shots of the cheese shop in the centre of Edam

I really do not know what is around the next corner...........

see ya there?

Dyke side of the moon, Edam is made backwards, The beginning!

I am on the way! One big fat tick in the box for destination 1.  EDAM

Set up my recording rig and worked on some of the new album tracks whilst sitting by/on/in a dyke.

Guitar cam!

Love it! Today recorded the sound that the internal workings of a windmill makes ( great rhythms )
and was very careful not to get my hair caught in the sail. ha ha

...And yes! it had to be done, I went and played in a cheese shop. Thanks guys!

A little cheeky cheese shop.

I manage to get 90 kilometres cycling in today too.

Important facts from today….

Edam is made backwards.

I am the proud owner of an oil tanker ship with wheels, with the approximate turning circle of……

When I’m not on my bike, there is a massive weight on my shoulders.

I know the terrain will change very soon, but until then, just look, the cycle path that goes as far as you can see......ahhhhhhh

Lets go inspire and record an album.

This is what it is all about.

Tomorrow I am going to go the wrong way, North across a 30 kilometre dam.

Cheers for reading!

Gonna need a bigger boat, 1 day to go!

Ferry crossing is booked….. Edam here we come!

Tuesday 27th August is the leaving date!

How can one person have so much stuff? Ha ha, its not like I’m going to carry it up a mountain or anything…..

It will all fit on the bike, but what about me?

It has been a busy few weeks, training has been hardcore!
5.30am starts at sunrise, cycling up little lanes singing loud and working on new song ideas….A great way to start the day!

8.30am, on busy A roads, being over taken by articulated lorries…character building!

This all creates a varied outlook on the world and provokes many different emotions that I aim to capture in these new songs.

In my last weeks training I attempted as many miles as i could carrying 35kg every morning before 9am and then off for a full days work…..lets just say that last week I slept very well.

Took this little lot cycling everyday.

Had a great sign off gig at the Trinity big top, really good fun and a great way to sign off the last album! Kay, you are a legend!

Armed with being as fit as I can be and a song book full of ideas…..
the next part of the album journey is almost here…..
(ha ha, now that makes it dramatic doesn’t it)

Slowly but surely heading in the right direction! 7 countries…and a few mountains.

Bring it on!
